Chet's Views and Thoughts |
Located about a quarter of a mile from our family's lake property, Spook Farm is now long gone and the land subdivided. The old house was gone when I took these images of the outbuildings in the Fall of 72, the home had been abandoned, neat and fully furnished as if the family had just disappeared.
My mother tells a story of the time she walked our family dog over there in the early 1960's and while standing in the yard looked up to see a lady holding a little girl's hand, both dressed in long dresses, embarrassed for being there mom looked down and when she looked back up the pair had vanished. The best us kids could do to add to the mystery of the place was the finding of two large coffin handles in the building you see in the above photos.
You never know what you might find blowin' in the wind.
... so it was that no vehicle thing.

Note: Not the Chet you might know - image was altered slightly to improve believability, Chet
Going through slide photos, came across this one from 1997:
Mammatus clouds are part of the underside of the thunderstorm anvil where the moist cumulonimbus clouds of the storm meet drier air below (you bet I looked that up) - these were on the tail end of a large storm system that was exiting to east as the sun was setting in the west - creating this spectacular view.
Laundry day: Scanned contents of 3 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of shorts, 5 shirts and 1 hooded sweatshirt.
I wasn't sure I'd ever find a dog to replace my friend Cody - but Luke is proving me wrong.
